Remark : This series of photographs show various wheeled vehicles that were used by the British forces here in Malaysia during the Malayan Emergency.

From left to right the photographs show:

  • A Willy’s Jeep belonging to C Squadron 15/19 Hussars in Cameron Highlands, it carries the number 36-YH-29. The Willys MB US Army Jeep, along with the nearly identical Ford GPW, was manufactured from 1941 to 1945. The U.S. Army called this type of vehicles "GP" for an abbreviation of "General Purpose" vehicle. During World War II, Willys produced 363,000 Jeeps and Ford some 280,000.

  • A Morris 1 tonner with the number 01 BG 08, this picture was taken in Cameron Highlands.

  • Three trucks that were used to store spare parts in Ipoh, they were known as the bin wagons.
