Remark : On 2 December 1989, the Government of Malaysia and the Communist Party of Malaya signed, in Haadyai, two written Peace Accords. They were:

  • Between The Government Of Malaysia And The Communist Party Of Malaya To Terminate Hostilities, and

  • Administrative Arrangements Between The Government Of Malaysia And The Communist Party Of Malaya in support of the "Agreement To Terminate Hostilities".

  • According to Kitti Ratanachaya, in, "The Communist Party of Malaya, Malaysia and Thailand: Truce Talks Ending The Armed Struggle of the Communist Party, Bangkok, Dungkaew, 1996)", the signing dignitaries of these agreements were:

  • Between The Government Of Malaysia And The Communist Party of Malaya To Terminate Hostilities for and on behalf of the Government of Malaysia the representatives were: Dato' Hj Wan Sidek bin Hj Wan Abdul Rahman, as Secretary-General of the Ministry of Home Affairs; General Tan Sri Hashim bin Mohd Ali as Chief of Defence Forces; and Tan Sri Mohd Haniff bin Omar as Inspector General, Royal Malaysia Police.

  • Between The Government of Malaysia And The Communist Party of Malaya To Terminate Hostilities for and on behalf of the Communist Party of Malaya the representatives were: Ong Boon Hua @ Chin Peng as Secretary-General; Abdullah C D as Chairman; and Rashid Maidin as Central Committee Member.

  • Between The Government of Malaysia And The Communist Party of Malaya To Terminate Hostilities was witnessed, with signatures affixed, by four (4) representatives of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand, namely: General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh as Deputy Director, Internal Security Operations Command; Police General Sawaeng Therasawat as Director-General, Royal Thai Police Department; Anek Sithiprasasana as Permant Secretary, Ministry of Interior; and Lieutenant General Yoodhana Yamphundu as Director, 4th Region of Internal Security Operations Command.
