Remark : This series of photographs are taken from the album of our donor's father, CSMI Gurney who was attached to the 15/19 Hussars and responsible for their physical fitness and physical education.

The album records that there was a severe storm in Ipoh on 18 March 1955 which devastated their camp in Ipoh. CSMI Gurney labelled the photos (from left to right) thus:

  • "One Hut Less." The photograph shows one of the wooden barrack huts completely demolished.

  • "The Balance." The only buildings left standing.

  • "C Squadron Office (That Was)." Nothing recognisable remains standing.
