Rex Panorama No.15 (Set 2) - The Gopeng Road Park, Ipoh
This Panoramic photograph by Rex Photo Studio, was taken long before the motor car started to take a serious hold on the streets of Ipoh and when (apart from the Towkays in their Mercedes) there were few cars on the street.
It shows this little park, tucked into the triangle formed by the Gopeng and Kampar Roads, and which over the next 30 years became progressively landscaped, welcoming the visitor to Ipoh. It was a place to walk and take in the fresh air, or even picnic on the grass.
However in the name of development, the park has gone, replaced by a concrete flyover. So much for development.
