The photographs show, from left to right:

  • The Tea Ceremony for the wedding on 13th April 1973. Richard Leong presents tea to his grandmother Wong Fah Yin, second wife of Leong Tian, at the Leong Tian mansion, while his bride, Honey, looks on pensively. Richard is the son of Leong Swee Seong, the second son of Leong Tian.

    Traditionally on the wedding day, the bride serves tea to her parents at home before the groom arrives. This is a mark of respect and to thank her parents for raising her. After the wedding ceremony, again as a mark of respect, the newlyweds both serve tea (holding the teacups with both hands), to the groom’s elders starting with the groom’s parents then proceeding from the oldest family members to the youngest.

  • One of the many wedding photographs taken outside the front doors of Rose Villa. From left to right can be seen: Kim, Marilyn Lim, Mary Leong Wee Yoon, Honey Lim, Leong Kai Loong, Chin Meng Wai, Roselyn Lim, Ak Kiew. Mary Leong and Chin Meng Wai were flowergirls to the bride.

  • The Leong side of the wedding party at Rose Villa. Seated in the centre are the bride and groom with the groom's grandmother Wong Fah Yin on his left and his mother Wong Nyan Kim on the right of the bride.
