Remark :

This picture shows one of the worst of the floods in Ipoh in 1926. It was taken at the corner of Belfield Street and Station Road.

Floods were the curse of Ipoh thanks to the silting up of the rivers because of the mining that took place all around the area. The Oldfield's sign shown top left is hanging from the Chung Thye Phin Building built in 1907.

Across the Street the signboard reads 'Charles Grenier & Co Ltd'.
