Tin Dredging Operations- Step 002 – Lifting The Ore-Bearing Material To The Top Of The Dredge
The second stage of the operation of dredging for tin is shown in the photograph.
One of the workers (the Bucket Coolie) removes some timber from the buckets to prevent obstruction and damage occurring.
The buckets carry the tin-bearing material to the top of the dredge where it is tipped into the dropchute and carried to the screen. The buckets continue their journey along the endless band to dig up another load.
