Perak Tourism - Ipoh, The Sentimental Side - A Self-guided Heritage Trail Map To Touch The Past
This new Ipoh heritage trail map first became available in December 2009. It is described as "A component of The Soul of Ipoh Project by the Perakean League" and supported by the Office of the Menteri Besar, Perak. In addition further support was provided five of Ipoh's "Homegrown Brands": Lost World of Tambun, Ngan Yin, Morubini, The Syuen and Foh San.
The map takes in both Old and New Town streets and 60 heritage buildings as well as giving a brief history of the city from 1873 to 1941. There is also a section on Ipoh’s famous foods, some notes on the Malay Enclave and “How to Script a Trip” a suggestion of how to enjoy two days in Ipoh.
The Perakean League is a grouping of altruistic Perakeans who are dedicated to unite, develop and reclaim Perak's pre-eminence. The Fellowship intends to help restore the identity and pride in all those who call themselves Perakeans. They are led by their Leaguemaster Raja Dr Nazrin Shah, Raja Muda of Perak.
