View Of Part Of Datoh Panglima Kinta Wahab's House
This photograph shows part of the Datoh Panglima Kinta Wahab's house at Lahat Road. It was built of bricks at a cost of $18,000, by a Chinese contractor in 1894.
Being extremely wealthy from the leases of his ancestral mines in Lahat, the house was built and furnished lavishly.
It was reported that a total value of $ 37,000 of cash and jewelry were stolen from his house while he was attending the Durbar in Kuala Kangsar. Eventually, both the thieves were captured and a considerabe amount of stolen items were recovered.
