Barber's Shop Tools (4) - A Selection Of Items
All the items in the above photographs were donated to us by the owner of Star Barbers in Belfield Street when the shop was forced to close by the owners.
The thre items (top left), include a clothes Brush (top), comb and neck brush.
In the photograph top centre, there is a specialist comb, scissors and thinning shears.
Top right we have a well worn and damaged open razor also known as the Cut-Throat.
Bottom left shows the leather strop and sharpening stone for the cut-throat and a traditional shaving brush.
Bottom centre, there can be seen two traditional local items, the Good Morning Towel (for around the customers neck and the overall sleeved white cover.
Bottom right provides a further selection including a shaving brush, the glass bottle for that refreshing spirit that traditional barbers use to finish the procedure and a rare open bladed razor.
