Part three of a series of pictures from Alan Steel's collection. Alan was one of the servicemen at the 12th Infantry Workshop REME, Gunong Panjang (Gunung Panjang) Camp, Ipoh, from 1955-57. The pictures here show:

  • Alan Steel, Don, Chalky, White - during Christmas in 1955 (at the camp).
  • Alan Steel and Terry Cox, Christmas concert.
  • S Sgt. Battersby's train, Christmas 1955. Alan told us, "Xmas day we entertained the children from the local Dr. Barnados home. Staff Battersby turned this jeep into a train to take them on a tour. That is him dressed as Santa!" More pictures from this Christmas party can be found here.
  • Maj. Harrison (CO) dumped in water tank (Christmas 1955). As Alan tells us "Xmas day 1955, we dunked the officers and CSM in the water tank. Major Harrison, our officer commanding, was the first to go".
  • Dinga Bell (CSM) takes a bath, Christmas 1955. According to Alan CSM Dinga Bell took an "unwanted and unappreciated bath" that day!
