Communist Terrorist Chan Na Na Killed During Operation Ginger
A page from Dato Seri Yuen Yuet Leng’s album with focus on CT Chan Na Na, during Operation Ginger in 1958.
The page includes 4 photos of Chan Na Na and one of her husband Chee Meng. Chan was an active Courier under Lee Meng in Ipoh. When the latter was arrested Chan fled to the jungle and joined her husband in Lintang Armed Work Force (AWF). Both were killed (photo bottom left) with Choy Tai Tei by 3 RAR on 23rd November 1958.
At the centre bottom of the page is a photograph of BCM Ah Hon, leader of the Lintang AWF. He was sent by his SCM Commander to look for DCS Malik, the Officer In Charge of the AWF Chemor and Tanah Hitam, to warn him of Special Branch Officers masquerading as comrades. He was captured and later brought back SB escapee Ah Loke.
